Watch FAQ

Are the watches you supply original and fully warrantied?

All our watches are sourced either directly from the manufacturer or from their UK agent. In the case of Marathon, we source these from the only official agent allowed to sell outside the US Military contract. All warranties supplied with the watch are full manufacturers warranties.

Are the watches 'Real' military issue?

This is the most difficult question to answer. In the case of Marathon - yes, they are from the current US Military contract. Luminox are the official supplier to the US Navy and US Navy SEALS. Traser are used by the SAS, SBS, French Foreign Legion and many other armed forces and police personnel Worldwide. These are bought by individuals and at unit level. The US Army for example are free to buy watches at unit level 'off contract' and we have supplied Traser to many individuals in US Military units. MWC supply to various contracts and manufacture G10 watches to the G1098 standard, we buy their surplus stock from these contracts and that is why we can offer such good value on these watches. The current watch supplied to most British non-Special Forces is actually made by Pulsar and is what is know as a 'throw-a-way'.

What is the CWC/MWC Debate?

Some G10 watch collectors prefer CWC others MWC. If you are offered a CWC by anyone other than Silvermans then it is either used or a copy. CWC only supply through Silvermans and that is why we are unble to supply them 'new'. We also find CWC very expensive when compared to the value offered by MWC.

Do the compasses, altimeters and barometers work on the Casio Sea Pathfinders and Protrek?

Yes is the short answer, however there are limitations. For example if you set the altimeter inside a building then it will be inaccurate in the open and vice versa. It relies on pressure and there are pressure differences inside and outside buildings. The thermometer will take your body temperature into account. For an accurate reading you need to take it off your wrist. Alternatively you can do some testing by comparing on and off wrist temperatures, getting an average difference and just make an allowance in your head. The compasses work fine provided your not standing next to a large metal object.

Supply and Returns

How long after ordering before I get my watch ?

In the UK this would usually be the next working day, however we do sell through 3 different channels so there is always a chance that a low stock watch goes out before the web ordering system is altered to mark it out of stock. For Traser, MWC, Luminox, Casio this would normally mean a delay of 1 or 2 days, for Marathon this could mean 2 weeks as we get these in from the USA. However we always try and get resupplied when we are down to our last 5 or 6 Marathons. We have a legal obligation to supply you within 28 days or offer a full refund. If you have a specific deadline we are always happy to deal with stock enquiries by phone or email. All NITE watches are dispatched from NITE directly.

What if I don't like the watch when I get it?

Don't take it out of its box or try it on, just box it back up and send it back to us for a full refund (less postage and handling) You have 7 days to do this. Read our Terms and Conditions and Returns policy for more information. The important thing to remember is don't wear it, remove tags or protective packaging. If you don't like a watch that is OK, however it is not OK to wear it for a few days then decide you don't like it.

What if the watch is damaged when I receive it?

We inspect all watches prior to being sent out. If you receive it damaged please contact us immediately. Retain all packaging material so we can arrange for the watch to be sent back to us at our expense. We will either refund or replace your purchase in full including all postage costs. We would ask that you co-operate with any Post Office investigation. This usually means signing and returning a form in a reply paid envelope.

What if my watch stops working after I receive it?

Within the first 14 days please contact us first. We will arrange for your watch to be replaced with a new one or a refund. If your watch has a serial number then we will need that. To prevent fraud we ensure we only get watches back that we actually sell. Unfortunately there have been attempts to return watches to us for a refund which we never sold. We always report these incidents to the Police and Credit card companies. After 14 days please return it to the manufacturer under warranty. I am buying from outside the UK, what price will I pay ?

All our prices are in GBP £ Sterling, we do not list prices in any other currency. The actual price you pay in your local currency will depend upon WorldPay and your bank's conversion rate at the time of purchase.

What if I buy an Item and it is later found to be mispriced ?

Telford Services shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products and/or services listed at an incorrect price, rebate or refund, or containing any other incorrect information or typographical errors. Telford Services shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Telford Services shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge
